BYK 1104 PRIMERA is a polymer dispersion based, one component primer material developed for all absorbent and weak surfaces.

Fields of Application

• As to protection of the absorbent surfaces such as gypsum plaster, gypsum panel, plaster, chipboard
from moisture in inside and outside areas,
• To prevent cracks caused by sudden water absorption of the surface before applying gypsum plaster,
• To increase the adherence of the self-levelling screeds to the floor and to reduce air bubbles,
• In order to decrease the amount of dust by applied on the screed surface in carpet under-screed
applications,
• Used as primer before wallpaper and paint applications.

ПРИМЕНЕНИЕ

Preparation of the Substrate

The application surfaces must be free from all kinds of dirt. If the surface is very dusty, it should be washed with water or thoroughly cleaned with a wet sponge. All weak parts should be scraped off the surface and a solid and clean surface should be obtained.

Смешивание

BYK 1104 PRIMERA is mixed with an electric mixer of 400-600 rpm/minute, by adding the amount of water specified in the application method, until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Применение
BYK 1104 PRIMERA is poured on the cleaned and ready surface. The material is applied homogeneously to the surface by brush or roller. Depending on the condition of the surface, the application density should be adjusted. Consumption should be increased on surfaces with high adhesion risk. The formation of ponds should not be allowed on the surface.
In Gypsum Plaster Application
In 1st coat application, BYK 1104 PRIMERA is diluted with 1/2 water and applied by brush or roller. In 2nd coat application, BYK 1104 PRIMERA is diluted with 1/1 water and applied by brush or roller.
In Floor Screed Application
BYK 1104 PRIMERA is diluted with 1/2 water and applied by brush or roller. In 2nd coat application, BYK 1104 PRIMERA is applied by brush or roller without mixing with water.
Before Ceramic Adhesive Application, On Ceramic Bonding To Gypsum Board Or Plasterboard Surfaces
In 1st Coat Application BYK 1104 PRIMERA is diluted with 1/2 water and applied by brush or roller. In 2nd coat application, BYK 1104 PRIMERA is applied by brush or roller without mixing with water.
As a Primer In Wallpaper And Paint Application

BYK 1104 PRIMERA is applied by brush or roller after diluting with 1/2 water.

Cleaning of the Tools
Tools and equipment used after the application should be cleaned with water. BYK 1104 PRIMERA can only be mechanically cleaned from the surface after hardening.
Coverage
In gypsum plaster application; 100-250 gr/m2 In floor screed application; 100-250 gr/m2 For adhering ceramics to plasterboard surfaces; 125-250 gr/m2 As a primer in wallpaper and paint application; 75-150 gr/m2
Watch Points
In BYK 1104 PRIMERA application, if the ambient and surface temperature is below +5°C or above +35°C, suitable temperatures should be expected. In outdoor applications, the application should be protected from sun, rain, wind and frost first 24 hours. Getting dirty of primer must be prevented during and after the application. Scratch test can be done to make sure the primer cured.

When stored properly at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, between +5°C and +30°C, shelf life is 12 months from the date of production. BYK 1104 PRIMERA freezes at temperatures below 0°C. Opened packages should be consumed within 1 week by closing their mouths

Store in cool and dry conditions protected from frost. In short-term storage, maximum 2 palettes can be stored on top of each other and delivery must be according to first in first out system. In long-term storage, do not store palettes on top of each other.
Health and Safety Precautions
Work cloth, protective gloves, goggles and masks concordant with Work and Worker Health rules must be used during the application. Due to irritant effects of the non-cured material, avoid contact to skin and eyes during storing and application. If such a contact occurs, it must be washed by soap and plenty of water. Consult a physician urgently if swallowed. Food and drink must be kept outside the application areas. Must be stored away from children.
